hair

i should know better than to mess with my children's hair.
sam sam needed a bang trim, and i figured i could trim it, and buy us a few more weeks before scheduling a real haircut. so i grabbed the kitchen scissors and took a little off the top.

it seemed fine, until i stood back.  holy bad haircuts batman!
i would like to blame the seventeen million cowlicks he has in the front of his head, but really, i have zero talent for cutting hair.

thankfully, there are a handful of barbershops nearby.
barbershops with trained professionals who handily repaired the damage, and were kind enough not to mock.

Omigod! I can't believe it was salvagable! That was seriously bad scissormanship! But the after shot is perfect...whew.

we had the opposite at our house last weekend. i sent farris to take everett to get his hair cut. i have spent the last several days correcting the professional's "work." when i asked farris what kind of directions he gave the barber, he looked at me like i was insane. "directions? i just said, 'clean it up.'" last time i let the boys out of the house together!
ps same looks so handsome (and grown-up).!
